The Four Letter Word

The four letter word, That pure feeling of love which once used to be craved for it’s butterfly inducing powers, where just one look from one’s beloved was enough to blossom one’s heart with eternal happiness.

When letters weren’t cheesy, having feelings wasn’t cheesy, being yourself wasn’t cheesy.

That pure feeling has been infected by the disease of adultery, where someone dropped drops of lust in the beautiful pond of love, to the point where people started believing infatuation to be love, where faux profiles became one’s identities, where having feelings became a threat, where secrets became the foundation of love.

The current generation has been unfortunate enough deprived of the feeling that just makes you feel like life’s worth it.

Old Souls may still exist but even they couldn’t hold much longer against the hookup culture that we’re currently residing it, where once thr judgements used to boil down upon one’s caste, one’s skin tone, one’s parent’s preference, has now been switched to the number of dimples on one’s face.

The land of Quotes, which provides people false hopes into believing that they’re looks doesn’t matter ironically in a superficial world where maintaining false personalities becomes more essential than protecting real relationships.

Where intimacy has been replaced by vileness.

Sure this generation has become more open, westernised, but it has also made people more vulnerable to be being unable to compensate any energy for their own feelings.

Love lies not in the way or how much people talk but in the way they get lost in each other’s eyes whenever they lay their eyes upon each other, and all one may require is the presence of someone to feel safe, to feel blessed, to feel the cloud of bliss, crying but in the awe of the person’s smile.

I just hope that the current generation embraces this four letter word, than the one that they’ve been so far craving.
